Chapter 12 - The Billionaire's Trap

Marcus didn't surrender.
He built a trap.
He publicly announced that he would transfer the Harrington trust.
Victor took the bait.
The meeting was arranged inside an abandoned warehouse in Brooklyn.
Marcus arrived alone.
Or so Victor thought.
Hidden cameras surrounded the building.
Federal investigators waited nearby.
Richard had contacted them.
Rosa remained safe with Eleanora.
Marcus walked inside.
Victor stood in the center.
Isabella was beside him.
Marcus's blood ran cold.
"Let her go."
Victor smiled.
"Sign first."
Marcus placed the documents on the table.
Victor picked them up.
He read the first page.
Then smiled.
"You really are desperate."
Marcus stared at him.
"Yes."
Victor signed.
Then Marcus smiled.
Victor frowned.
"What?"
"You signed the confession."
Victor looked down.
The documents weren't trust-transfer papers.
They were legal acknowledgments of fraud, kidnapping, conspiracy, and financial crimes.
Victor's face changed.
Police lights flashed outside.
Victor grabbed Isabella.
Marcus lunged.
A gunshot exploded.
Everyone froze.
Victor dropped.

The gun clattered across the floor.
And Isabella ran straight into Marcus's arms.
