Chapter 11 - THE FATHER WHO SOLD HIS DAUGHTER

Emma drove to her father's house.

Nathan followed.

Her father opened the door.

The moment he saw Nathan, he sighed.

“You finally know.”

Emma stared at him.

“How could you?”

Her father looked broken.

“I didn't have a choice.”

“You always had a choice.”

He lowered his head.

“Charles had evidence against me.”

“What evidence?”

“I helped him move money.”

Nathan stepped forward.

“How much?”

“Millions.”

Nathan stared.

“You sold my children for money.”

“No.”

“Then why did you tell Richard where Noah was?”

“I didn't know what he planned.”

“You knew enough.”

Emma began crying.

Her father reached for her.

She stepped away.

“Don't touch me.”

He froze.

Then he handed Nathan a file.

“Everything is in there.”

Nathan opened it.

Bank transfers.

Emails.

Names.

Dates.

And one final document.

A trust agreement.

Nathan read it.

Then looked up.

“This isn't fourteen billion.”

His father shook his head.

“No.”

“How much?”

“Twenty-eight.”

Nathan stared.

Twenty-eight billion dollars.

The real Harrison family fortune had been hidden for decades.

And Noah wasn't simply an heir.

He was the final beneficiary.

But there was another condition.

The trust could not be activated until Nathan legally acknowledged Noah as his son.

Charles had spent four years keeping Nathan away from Emma.

Richard had spent months trying to identify which twin was the heir.

And Emma's father had helped them.

Nathan closed the file.

“Why tell me now?”

Her father looked at Emma.

“Because Charles ordered my death.”

Silence.

“What?”

“He knows I've kept copies.”

Nathan immediately understood.

“You're being hunted.”

“Yes.”

Then headlights appeared outside.

Several black SUVs stopped in front of the house.

Nathan grabbed Emma.

“Down!”

The windows shattered.

Gunfire erupted.

Nathan pulled Emma behind the wall.

Her father crawled toward the basement.

“Go!”

Nathan shouted.

They escaped through a back door.

Police arrived minutes later.

The house was empty.

Emma's father was gone.

On the floor, Nathan found one thing.

A bloodstained envelope.

Inside was a note.

I'M SORRY, EMMA.

And beneath it:

THE MAN YOU SHOULD FEAR IS NOT CHARLES.

Nathan stared.

“Then who?”

The answer was written underneath.

LOOK AT THE PERSON WHO BENEFITS WHEN CHARLES FALLS.

Nathan's mind raced.

Someone wanted Charles gone.

Someone wanted the trust.

Someone wanted Noah.

And someone had been manipulating everyone.

Then Nathan suddenly realized something.

Project Kingdom.

If he refused to sign, the deal collapsed.

But if he signed...

The trust would automatically transfer.

Someone had designed the entire scheme around him.

And Nathan finally knew where to look.
