Chapter 10 - THE WEDDING TRAP

Daniel canceled the wedding.
At least publicly.
Privately, he did the opposite.
He announced the wedding would happen as planned.
Grace stared at him.
“Are you insane?”
“Maybe.”
“Daniel, Vanessa wants you dead.”
“I know.”
“Samuel wants me dead.”
“I know.”
“And you're planning to marry her?”
“Yes.”
Grace shook her head.
“This is suicide.”
Daniel looked at Marcus.
“We need them to believe they won.”
The wedding would be bait.
Every detail was designed to expose them.
Security cameras.
Hidden microphones.
Financial traps.
A fake trust document.
Daniel's supposed medical weakness.
Everything was prepared.
Vanessa returned two weeks later.
She arrived alone.
Daniel met her in the foyer.
She looked beautiful.
He hated how convincing she was.
“Do you still love me?” she asked.
Daniel said,
“Yes.”
It was a lie.
But Vanessa believed it.
She kissed him.
“I knew you'd come back.”
Daniel smiled.
“I have one condition.”
“What?”
“You sign a prenuptial agreement.”
Vanessa laughed.
“Of course.”
“It gives you nothing.”
Her smile froze.
“Why?”
“Because I want to know you love me.”
She looked at him.
“You're testing me.”
“Yes.”
Vanessa nodded.
“Fine.”
She signed.
Daniel watched her carefully.
She didn't read the final page.
That was the mistake.
The page contained a hidden clause.
If Vanessa attempted to access any Whitfield asset through deception, the entire estate would automatically transfer into a protected trust.
Vanessa signed.
Daniel smiled.
“Thank you.”
That night, Vanessa called Samuel.
Daniel was listening.
“She signed.”
Samuel replied,
“Good.”
“The wedding is tomorrow.”
“Then tomorrow night, Daniel dies.”
Vanessa's voice trembled.
“What about Grace?”
“She'll be blamed.”
Daniel's heart pounded.
He realized the plan.
They weren't just going to kill him.
They would frame Grace.
The maid.
The half-sister.
The jealous woman.
The perfect scapegoat.
Daniel immediately contacted Marcus.
“Move the operation forward.”
“Sir?”
“We're not waiting until the wedding.”
“What about Vanessa?”
Daniel looked through the window.
She stood in the garden.
Watching him.
“We let her think she fooled us.”
Then he noticed something.
Vanessa wasn't alone.
A man stood behind the trees.
Richard.
Daniel smiled.
The trap was working.
But then another car arrived.
Samuel stepped out.
Daniel's smile disappeared.
Three enemies.
May you like
One wedding.
And one final surprise.
