Chapter 11 - THE TRUST

Emily remembered something.
A song.
A song Beatrice had forced her to memorize.
Three stars.
Two rivers.
One flower.
The same phrase that opened the Orchid files.
But there was another line.
Emily whispered it.
“One crown beneath the stone.”
My father immediately understood.
“The Bennett estate.”
We traveled to an abandoned farmhouse my grandfather had owned.
Under the fireplace was a steel box.
Inside was a handwritten trust agreement.
The original Bennett fortune.
And the name of its rightful heir.
Clara Bennett.
Not Arthur.
Not Beatrice.
Not Julian.
Me.
The trust also contained one shocking condition.
The heir had to expose the crimes committed against the family before claiming the assets.
That meant my fortune couldn't save me.
The truth had to save me.
I handed the documents to Mercer.
“Make them public.”
He nodded.
Within hours, the story exploded.
Every major news network reported the Vance scandal.
The evidence went viral.
Politicians resigned.
Executives fled.
Banks froze accounts.
The public learned what had happened to me.
The woman they had mocked.
The wife they had called barren.
The mother they had attacked.
Was the rightful heir to the fortune they had stolen.
Then Beatrice called.
“Congratulations.”
“What do you want?”
“I want to meet.”
“Where?”
“The baby shower venue.”
I froze.
“The mansion?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because that's where everything began.”
Then she hung up.
I looked at Mercer.
“I know what she's planning.”
May you like
“What?”
“She wants to finish what she started.”
