The next morning, Valerie meets Natalie at a quiet café near the botanical gardens. Nervous and constantly looking over her shoulder, Natalie reveals that the dinner was not spontaneous—it had been planned weeks in advance.
She produces copies of emails and a notebook in which Victoria had listed steps to pressure Valerie into giving up her condominium. The plan included emotional manipulation, financial pressure, and repeated attempts to convince Valerie to add Diego's name to the property deed.
Natalie also reveals that Diego's parents are facing serious financial problems. Their business has accumulated substantial debt after several failed investments, and they viewed Valerie's debt-free condominium as their easiest solution. According to Natalie, the family believed that once Diego became a legal co-owner, they could use the property as collateral for a refinancing loan.
Valerie immediately turns the documents over to Detective Brooks and her attorney, Margaret Collins. Both conclude that the new evidence strengthens the investigation into possible fraud and coercion.
Meanwhile, investigators execute a search warrant at the Alvarez family office. They recover computers, financial records, and a locked filing cabinet containing draft legal documents related to Valerie's condominium. Although none of the documents bears Valerie's signature, several internal emails suggest that family members discussed transferring ownership before ever obtaining her consent.
As the investigation becomes public, Diego's employer places him on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal case. Local media begin reporting on the assault arrest and the broader financial investigation, placing intense pressure on the Alvarez family's carefully cultivated reputation.
