Chapter 11 - THE OTHER HEIR
The revelation destroyed the room.
Dominic stared at Antonio.
"You're lying."
Antonio shook his head.
"No."
Elena looked horrified.
"You knew?"
Antonio looked at her.
"I knew before you ever disappeared."
"Who?"
Antonio smiled.
"Her name is Sophia."
Dominic's face went pale.
"Where is she?"
"Safe."
"Where?"
Antonio laughed.
"You think I would tell you?"
Dominic stepped forward.
Antonio pointed his gun at Elena.
"One more step and she dies."
Dominic stopped.
Antonio continued.
"Your father had an affair."
"With whom?"
"A woman named Isabella Romano."
Dominic remembered the name.
She had disappeared twenty years ago.
"Isabella had a daughter."
Antonio smiled.
"Your daughter."
Dominic shook his head.
"That's impossible."
"No."
Antonio looked at Lily.
"Your father divided the trust between two grandchildren."
Lily stared.
"I have a sister?"
Dominic looked at her.
"Maybe."
Antonio smiled.
"Find Sophia."
Then he triggered a smoke grenade.
The room filled with white smoke.
When it cleared—
Antonio was gone.
Elena was still alive.
But Lily had disappeared.
Again.
This time Dominic broke.
He threw a chair against the wall.
Marcus had never seen him lose control.
"Find her!"
"We're searching."
"FIND HER!"
Elena grabbed him.
"Dominic!"
He looked at her.
"She was right beside me."
"I know."
"I promised."
Elena's voice softened.
"Then keep the promise."
Dominic looked at her.
"What?"
"You told Lily family stays together."
She touched his arm.
"Bring her home."
Three hours later, a message appeared.
A photograph.
Lily.
Standing beside a teenage girl.
The girl looked fourteen.
Dark hair.
Brown eyes.
And the same tiny scar above her eyebrow.
Under the photograph:
MEET YOUR OTHER DAUGHTER.
Dominic stared.
